WDR Electromagnetics’ EMF site evaluations fall within three primary categories: comprehensive testing, assessments of properties near power lines, and the protection of sensitive electronic equipment.

◆ Comprehensive Testing

The firm conducts site survey measurements using state-of-the-art equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, as well as conducts property assessments. Site evaluations are completed initially to assess both human exposure standards and in commercial settings, interference issues with sensitive electronic equipment. Quasi-DC EMF and AC EMF sources including evaluation of the orientation of all fields are evaluated.

On the residential side, unless living in close proximity to transmission and distribution lines, high EMF in homes is typically due to NEC violations that tend to be missed on home and electrical inspections. The firm’s experienced team uses a combination of specialized equipment and innovative troubleshooting methodologies to ensure successful mitigation. It is important to note that, in certain situations, relatively simple and inexpensive solutions may exist.

◆ Property Assessments Near Power Lines

The current load on power lines changes regularly from season to season and even within a 24-hour period, depending on current demand. These variations in current cause the magnetic field to change drastically which can affect sensitive electronic equipment. Therefore, in order to make informed decisions, correct evaluation of properties adjacent to power lines must be made. One initial measurement cannot be considered trustworthy due to these temporal variations.

◆ Protection of Sensitive Equipment

EMI can cause performance degradation in sensitive electronic equipment in such facilities as laboratories, hospitals, and higher education centers. A sampling of the equipment that is sensitive to elevated ambient fields includes:
